Too Many Clowns - Not Enough Circuses

Are any of you having doubts now?  I know it's hard to admit you made a mistake, but continuing to support a guy like this is just going to make you look worse when you finally admit it.  I didn't want to believe collusion between BP and the administration in the catastrophe on the Deep Water Horizon, but it looks like there may have been some.  Take a look at this link:

http://iquestionauthority.wordpress.com/2010/06/21/must-watch-criminal-investigation-of-bp-staged-oil-spill-vital-to-gulf-recovery/

I just can't respect the president or anyone associated with him when they keep ignoring common sense and making deliberate efforts to destroy our country.  We are in big trouble financially. With an out of control debt,  all the Democrats seem to do is increase spending.  They can't even get the social activities right.  Look at this garb.  Michelle looks like a pinata.

Our Mother's 90th.

Another five years flew by.  It seems just like yesterday when we all met as a family in San Antonio, Texas to celebrate the eighty fifth birthday of our Matriarch.  This year we gathered on South Padre Island, Texas with kids, grandkids, and great grand kids to wish our mother (grandmother, great-grandmother) Happy Birthday.  We are resting up today from the celebration.
Louise is a true picture of the genteel Southern Lady, and. as always. she didn't break character.  The festivities started on Thursday with the arrival of all participants.  We rented a four story condominium on the north end of the Island with great views of the Gulf of Mexico and the Laguna Madre.  The Steel Magnolia amazed us all with her energy and vitality.

This is a breakfast photo with Uncle Troy cooking breakfast for everyone while mother enjoys a little time with her newest great grandchild, Chloe.
In this photo the grandkids are doing what we do best in our family, eating.

Aaron and Ava are getting acquainted with their new little cousin, Chloe.

The views of the Gulf of Mexico from the upper balconies were spectacular.

The views of the Laguna Madre were also stunning.  As the sun set on the bay we made plans to meet next year to repeat the event.  My mother suggested that five years might be stretching our luck.  So, the planning for the next location starts today.

  THE MYSTERY OF THE FLOWER

She was the Belle of Jeff Davis County.
Stunning to the beholder.
Long haired brunette
with more curves than a mountain highway.

She was raised in the traditions of the South.
Never leave the house without your make-up.
Always dress to the nines.
Her wide brimmed hats shadowed her face
to add to the mystery.

She learned to be strong and silent in adversity.
A player in a man’s world.
Influential, but not obtrusive.
Beautiful, but powerful.

She remains the same today.
Never making an appearance until her face is fixed.
Her hair shows no gray.
Graceful and fragrant like the Magnolia’s blossom.

But make no mistake,
her resolve is steel.

Just a few to keep you rolling through the weekend.

Have you noticed how much social engineering is going on in some schools and in most children's television programing?  If not you might want to take a look.  I hope your "at home" instruction is stronger than a bull's breath.

Now here is the real spill folks.  In case you don't know, both are the fault of Barack Hussein Obama and the Democrats in Congress.  B.P. supported Obama and all the enviro- Nazis and look what happened to them.  The first accident and they're toast.  They drilled just where the government told them they should drill.  They wanted to drill in 500 feet of water, but the government said it wasn't safe - go figure. Some think it is some great conspiracy designed to give BHO and his handlers national control of the oil industry just as Hugo Chavez has in Venezuela.  I didn't believe in the possibility of such grand alliances until we elected a real nobody for president and then caved to the pressure of his foreign backers and rejuvenated domestic terrorists posing as University professors.  I'm not so sure.

Here is one of the biggest questions still.  Who is this guy and where is he from?  To Robert Gibbs and others who would glibly dismiss my question, I would say just show me the records.  I want to see them all.  There is no good reason to spend millions of dollars to keep your background information covered up if you don't have something serious to hide.  Our foreign born commander and chief once again turned on one of his own when he fired General McChrystal.  Here is an unusual specimen in the armed services, a progressive liberal, who voted for Obama and supported his "don't shoot, don't shoot" policy.  When he got tired of listening to the smug and arrogant narcissist who acts like he actually has a plan for anything, he called in his buddies in the far left media and got slam dunked.  How's that for cannibalism?  They will eat their own.  So let's just make everyone legal and then our president won't have to worry.   Millions of uneducated and untrained new citizens with huge families, who can't support themselves and require massive welfare support, will suddenly become the undereducated and submissive pawns of the Democrat party.  What a country.  And, in addition to that their home country is now suing one of our sovereign states over their illegal immigration policy.  I say boycott Mexico, and California.

With our U. S. companies already straining to compete in the world market, labor unions continue to want to invade more and more sectors  of the work force.  These Organized Crime controlled behemoths bleed the American worker in the name of better working conditions, while skimming off the cream to support their own lavish lifestyles.  The result is poor service, decreased production, thuggery, lost jobs, demoralized workers, and jobs lost to foreign countries.  Between labor unions and smothering taxes, our state side businesses have very little incentive to continue.  The consumer is left with products that don't meet our standards.   In edition, foreign investors are buying up the motel industry and convenience store industry and reducing the service there to third world standards.  I knew a few cartoons would cheer you up for the weekend.

Insanity!

Now that last cartoon seems absurd to those of us who are accustomed to rule of law, but if you listen to the Democrat agenda, it is their hope to use amnesty to create an immense voter base of uneducated and un-American voters.  They have no intention of enforcing the immigration laws of this nation. Why are no law-makers, prosecutors, or judges calling them on this and filing on them for dereliction of duty?

Listen to this bimbo.  She is the U. S. Secretary of Labor Hilda L. (Looney) Solis. http://www.thefoxnation.com/illegal-immigration/2010/06/21/obama-labor-chief-illegals-have-right-fair-wages
She actually lumps documented and undocumented workers in the same category.  While I'm for being fair to all legal workers, I have the crazy idea in my head that undocumented workers should be arrested immediately and returned to Mexico or where ever else they might be from.  Call me radical, but that's my old law enforcement training coming out.  To know a felony is being committed and refusing to act or at least make it know is known as misprision of a felony.  Webster defines misprision of felony (or treason) as:
"the offense of concealing knowledge of a felony (or treason) by one who has not participated or assisted in it."  This woman is guilty after the first report she receives from an undocumented worker.  So are the officials in the various states who refuse to enforce their own immigration laws.  So are the Democrat politicians including this administration who refuse to secure the border until constituents  vote for sweeping Immigration reform designed to grant amnesty to millions of illegals (This is blackmail and I am reporting it).  Their intention is clear:  New Democrat Voters.  This action is illegal.  I suppose the president is hoping for amnesty to legitimize his immigrant standing.  All of them are guilty.

Father's Day

As a father, I worry about the condition of this old World and all the inane machinations modern politicians foist to remedy their selfish folly.  It could be a wonderful place to live.  However, godless men, acting unilaterally, push their agendas ahead and make excuses for why things are falling apart.  Some mind numbed and never minded people are willing to go along with the program without consulting history and established methods for making progress.  We continue to live in fear generated by those who would have us depend on them in every self proclaimed crisis.  Life is full of crisis.  The challenge has been to accept that, on occasion, in the natural course of life, mistakes happen, accidents happen, and unpleasant consequences may result.  Independent people in a free society can choose to pick up the pieces, put things back together, and work to make things better.

Established rules help us keep our freedom under control, and rule of law helps us reign in those who would do as they please at the expense of others.  However, too much law and too much dependence on government to handle what we should handle ourselves, drives down initiative and stifles creativity.  I hope future generations will reverse this trend.

Orderly growth is imperative because the cost of progress must not exceed a society's ability to provide support for its members.  The Earth is an amazing place that can sustain and heal through most natural and man made strains.  While we should be responsible and frugal in our use of her natural resources, there is very little we can do to make long term differences.  Good stewardship is admirable and rewarding, but, for example, our lifetime efforts at making a dent in the climate through the control of green house gases was just trumped by a volcano in Iceland.  We should strive to make progress, move forward and adapt to the naturally changing climatic conditions that will ebb and flow regardless of what we do.  We should use natural and man made disasters to invent and overcome.  We all have the ability to contribute.  Only those who give up and buy into the lie that the government is just here to help us will slide into oblivion.  Stand up and fight this defeatist abomination.  Freedom is worth fighting for.

The federal government made the decision to force British Petroleum to drill in 5000 ft. of water.  The people in the area, and the oil company were planning to drill in 500 feet of water and had already agreed between themselves to do so.  However, the challenge was accepted and new methods were put into action.  A terrible accident happened.  Instead of accepting responsibility and helping to remedy a bad situation, the same government who in essence created the scenario where disaster was more likely to be the result, started blaming, denying, and seeking to distance themselves from the problem.  The reason the government was involved was to reward a relatively small group of individuals who think they can control the environment, and who give big bucks to have their agenda forced on everyone.  Their short sided and ill thought through programs have resulted in disaster and damaged the same environment they so loudly claim they are out to protect.

We must take back the reins and drive forward again.  Everyone is important in getting the job done.  Don't depend on someone else to do what you see needs to be done.  Our founding fathers gave us the tools when they founded this great nation of ours and they wrote down many wise suggestions for us to follow to insure it survives.  We must return to those writings and the Godly wisdom found in the Holy Bible which motivated them to act as they did, and do what they said.  Happy Father's Day

When will this president step up to the plate?

Historically legal immigrants coming to this country appreciated the freedom they received. They gave up their citizenship in another country and embraced the lifestyle and love of the United States so common among citizens here.  Now we are being invaded by worthless dolts who want nothing more than a free ride and none of the responsibilities associated with being an American citizen.  I think this attitude is particularly true of the illegal Mexican immigrants.  Their President, who presides over the worthless and corrupt Mexican government, [incapable of taking care of it's own people (except for the super wealthy)] came to the United States and lectured us on handling the millions of illegal Mexicans who flood across our border daily.  Instead of throwing the bum out and banning him from future visits, our worthless excuse for a president kissed his butt and left the American people to fend for themselves.  I say thank you to Arizona and Missouri for your respective stances against this horde of worthless trash.  I say treat those who violate our immigration laws harshly, and charge the Mexican government a high penalty for their handling and return.  A friend of mine from Canada who became a citizen two years ago says the only person in the group being granted U. S. citizenship with him who refused to pledge allegiance to the United States was a Mexican woman.  He pointed this up to the authorities, but they granted her citizenship anyway.  If I had been the judge she would have been on the first flight back to Mexico in deportation status.  We need to stop this foolishness immediately.  Fire judges who will not do their jobs, and prosecute politicians like those in California who refuse to enforce their own State laws on immigration.  We also need to research the immigration status of our own president before anything else is done.

And here we are with a new kind of  (ILLEGAL) immigrant who wants the same rights and privileges. Only they want to achieve it by playing with a different set of rules, one that includes the entitlement card and a guarantee of being faithful to their mother country. I'm sorry, that's not what being an American is all about. I believe that the immigrants who landed on Ellis Island in the early 1900's deserve better than that for all the toil, hard work
and sacrifice in raising future generations to create a land that has become a beacon for those legally searching for a better life. I think they would be appalled that they are being used as an example by those waving foreign country flags.

http://srnonline.americancreative.com/videos/srn_061810_arizona.php  This Administration is giving away America rather than take any action on the invasion by illegal aliens from Mexico, or illegal aliens from other countries using Mexico as a gateway.  So far, the only thing this president has shown he is good at is over spending and increasing taxes.

Holy Derricks Batman!

I am appalled daily by the lack of media involvement in the actual happenings of our day.  Oh, they carp for hours on the official line of the White House, but ignore the obvious questions most Americans with the ability to think critically have.  They don't fact check anything, so whatever the POTUS has to say is rarely questioned.  With this president it would be advisable to check everything he has to say.  Most of his monologue is bogus.  Perhaps he doesn't even know it.  I don't know any puppets who argue with their handlers.  To shut down entire industries every time death and destruction occurs in one quadrant as the result of an accident would have the entire U. S. in an idle mode.  President Obama has shut down our operations in the Gulf of Mexico, but we have not shut down the operations of foreign operators drilling there.  I am going to present a portion of an article on this issue as it relates to the BP spill.

Doing the Job Media Won't: Fact-checking Obama's Gulf Spill Address

Created 06/16/2010 - 17:12

In all, the president misrepresented the federal government's--and especially his cabinet's--role in creating the conditions that led to the spill, the state of the nation's oil reserves, and his own administration's involvement with BP. Futhermore, his transition from discussing the Gulf spill to advocating "clean energy" legislation was a huge logical leap, and one that necessarily misrepresents the problems the nation faces with regard to energy.
The latter was perhaps the president's most subtle sleight of hand. He claimed the Gulf spill is "the most painful and powerful reminder yet that the time to embrace a clean energy future is now. Now is the moment for this generation to embark on a national mission to unleash America's innovation and seize control of our own destiny."
Now, if the president had stated the spill is a reminder that the nation needs to get off of oil--that disasters like this are an unfortunate, if rare consequence of harvesting crude oil--he would have had a point. But that is not what he said. He claimed the disaster underscores the need for "clean" energy, which presumably does not include coal, the dirtiest of them all. But the Gulf spill has no bearing on coal energy.
Also intended to promote the "clean energy" cause was Obama's misleading statement that "Countries like China are investing in clean energy jobs and industries that should be right here in America." In fact, as the Heritage Foundation notes [2], China "will account for nearly 45% of oil demand growth in the next five years, receives 70% of its energy from coal already, and is projected to nearly triple coal capacity by 2030."
Say what you will about clean energy or coal, but the president's advocacy of his own energy agenda despite the facts was unseemly and based on a fallacious argument.
Moving forward, Obama also misrepresented the state of the oil industry itself. He claimed that Americans "consume more than 20% of the world's oil, but have less than 2% of the world's oil reserves. And that's part of the reason oil companies are drilling a mile beneath the surface of the ocean - because we're running out of places to drill on land and in shallow water."
"This howler," writes John Hinderaker [3] at Power Line, "is a favorite canard of Democratic politicians":
As is so often the case, they are relying on the public's ignorance. Most people don't realize that in the U.S., oil isn't counted as part of our "reserves" unless it is legally available for drilling. Thus, ANWR, to take one of many examples, isn't counted toward the total "reserves." The U.S. government could cause our reserves to skyrocket overnight by opening new areas, on land and in shallow water, to drilling. But the U.S. is the only country in the world that has deliberately chosen not to develop its own energy resources. No one else is that dumb.
So the reason oil companies drill a mile beneath the water is not that there are not ample supplies of crude in other parts of the United States, but rather that the federal government does not permit drilling in so many of those areas.
According to Kiplinger Magazine (by way of the American Thinker [4]), "untapped reserves are estimated at about 2.3 trillion barrels, nearly three times more than the reserves held by Organization of Petroleum Exporting Counties (OPEC) and sufficient to meet 300 years of demand-at today's levels-for auto, aircraft, heating and industrial fuel, without importing a single barrel of oil."
The misdeeds of the oil industry were, of course, a frequent refrain in the president's speech. But he also misrepresented that industry's culpability by claiming "time and again, the path forward [to further regulation] has been blocked…by oil industry lobbyists."
What the president conveniently neglected to mention, however, was that BP has been an advocate of most of his energy agenda. As the Examiner's Tim Carney reminds us [5]:
BP "has lobbied for tax hikes, greenhouse gas restraints, the stimulus bill, the Wall Street bailout, and subsidies for oil pipelines, solar panels, natural gas and biofuels… BP was a founding member of the U.S. Climate Action Partnership (USCAP), a lobby dedicated to passing a cap-and-trade bill. As the nation’s largest producer of natural gas, BP saw many ways to profit from climate legislation, notably by persuading Congress to provide subsidies to coal-fired power plants that switched to gas.
Though the company left USCAP, it did not stop lobbying for cap and trade, and later "signed off" on Senate cap and trade legislation as well as explicitly lobbied for a higher gas tax. So Obama's insistence the oil industry has opposed relevant regulations tooth and nail is less than accurate.
While Obama was placing as much unearned blame at industry's feet as possible, he was also sidestepping his own administration's complicity in the crisis. He stated towards the beginning of his speech:
A few months ago, I approved a proposal to consider new, limited offshore drilling under the assurance that it would be absolutely safe –- that the proper technology would be in place and the necessary precautions would be taken. That obviously was not the case in the Deepwater Horizon rig, and I want to know why.
Well, perhaps he should ask his cabinet members--you know, the ones he just put in charge of the new commission investigating the incident. On March 31 in a speech at Andrews Air Force Base, he told the nation that Energy Secretary Steven Chu, Interior Secretary Ken Salazar, and climate czar Carol Browner had assured him that additional Gulf Coast drilling would be safe.
But the president of course did not put the blame at their feet. In fact, as Byron York noted [6]:
[I]n this moment of crisis, Obama is relying on the same team that earlier gave him "the assurance that [offshore drilling] would be absolutely safe" -- advice that he now openly says was wrong. And what is the "green team" telling him now? That it is impossible to stop the flow of oil into the Gulf. Politico's Mike Allen channels West Wing thought this way: The Gulf gusher is a battle we can't win. So we had to make this tragedy about something bigger than the liveshot of spewing oil. So having surrendered on the challenge of stopping the oil, Obama tried to redirect the public's attention away from the spill and onto the political debate over a cap-and-trade bill. The short version of the strategy: Give up and change the subject. Like everything else Obama has tried so far in the Gulf crisis, it won't work.
Indeed.

The World's Smallest Presidents

Pappy is back.  I have been on the road for nearly two weeks getting some dental work done.  I didn't like the estimate I got here in Harlingen, so I went and visited with a friend in Casper, Wyoming.  He is a young dentist with a philosophy more suited to my tastes.  We had a great visit and I am looking forward to having a full set of chompers soon.  While I was there I checked your e-mails, and read some internet news, but I didn't watch any television.  What a nice change of pace.  The man many of you elected president is still messing up by the numbers.  I read some comments on other blogs by early supporters of Obama who are still convinced he is constitutionally legitimate.  I couldn't comment because I was using a computer not recognized by our blog hosts, so I decided to post a few things when I returned.

The controversy stems from new revelations by an Hawaiian elections clerk.  See the video here:

Those of us who contend the current president has not been properly vetted are accused of being conspiracy theorists and major nuts.  What are we to think when evidence keeps piling up and not all from sources adverse the this regime?  What are we to think when we see how much money is being spent to keep the information under lock and key?

Well, from the "horse's mouth".  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6M7Rp_Ghv6k .

In a 2004 article appearing in The Sunday Standard the following headline says it all:

Kenyan-born Obama All Set For U. S. Senate

This article appeared in the Sunday, June 27, 2004 edition.  The first paragraph reads, "Kenyan-born U. S. Senate hopeful, Barack Obama appeared set to take over the Illinois Senate seat after his main rival, Jack Ryan dropped out of the race on Friday night amid a furor over lurid sex club allegations."

In case you want to check this out further you can research at The Standard Ltd., I & M Building, Kenyatta Ave., P. O. Box 30080,00100 GPO Nairobi, Kenya.

The article was not refuted by Obama at the time.

What are we to think?

My question to you is why are our government guardians  not looking into these allegations?  Everything Obama is doing is null and void if they just verify the above comments.

Now that's a plug.

Finally British Petroleum has come upon a viable solution to stop the oil leak.  The United States Congress has single handedly stopped everything that formerly flowed freely, so why not an oil leak in the Gulf of Mexico?  Get them close enough and they'll tax it into submission.

If you're afraid of the future, then get out of the way, stand aside. The people of this country are ready to move again.  Ronald Reagan

What are they thinking?

I'm daily perplexed by the actions of our current administration.  I keep asking myself, "What are they thinking?" I'm going to be away from the keyboard for a few days and while I'm gone maybe you can give me some answers.  I'm not sure I'm still living in the United States.  At least the Supreme Court made a sensible ruling on the Miranda warnings.  Our newest incompetent, Sonia Sotomayor showed her true pinko leanings in her take on the decision.

Barack Hussein Obama shot off to Chicago for a vacation.  Who vacations in Chicago?  I am of the opinion he was doing some CYA work on the bribe offered to  Joe Sustek.  At the same time he was sending Eric Holder (now in first place for the worst Attorney General in history), to the Gulf Coast to see if he can drum up some criminal charges against BP.  They are trying to distance themselves from BP since there are some questionable ties with the oil company and the Obama administration.  Holder should be checking on some criminal charges in the Sustek bribe situation, the seating of an unqualified candidate as president, assault charges on SEIU thugs and new Black Panther members at peaceful rallies and voting places,  and a variety of real violations which he is ignoring because it involves people who have paid a lot of money for favors from this administration.  Bill Clinton just can't keep his amoral self out of the shady politics.  He's an expert who should have been prosecuted himself for any number of violations.  But like Holder, Janet Reno was bought and paid for.

What is it with these Muslims?  They are building huge mosques all over the U. S. and now they want to build a huge one across the street from the World Trade Center site.  Let me say this one more time.  This is a religion that has no business in the United States at all.  We are stupidly ignoring their stated religious purpose of taking over the entire world and destroying all others who don't submit to Sharia law and the worship of the prophet Mohammed.  I don't care how innocent their members appear on the surface, they are all about the same thing.  It is not a religion that can co-exist with any other.  They have no qualms about lying to infidels.  In case you don't know what an infidel is, it is anyone who is not Muslim.  You my friend are marked for death is you don't submit.  Every mosque in the U. S. should be closed, and every non-citizen rounded up and expelled from this country.  We don't need them here.  We are at war with these people.  If it were up to me, I would take a very close look at our president.  They do not allow any other churches, or religions to exist in their countries.  They kill Christians all over the world by the tens of thousands and yet we blindly go along to get along.  We cannot afford to do this.  You may label me a kook and call me hard hearted and mean spirited, but when they come for you and your children, you might want to look me up and apologize.

The puppet president continues to show his incompetence in every aspect of the job.  We should be behind Israel one hundred percent.  Our financial system is in tatters, our foreign policy is abysmal, our health care system is already cratering, thugocracy is the order of the day,  and our system of checks and balances has been corrupted to the point it no longer exists.  We need wholesale change from top to bottom.  I'm afraid we'll all suffer a lot more before we are able to turn this joke of an administration out, but we should not waiver from the task of doing so.  Let me know what you think.
