"Long may she wave...."
September 11, 2010.
I know many of you are flying your flags today and remembering those who lost their lives in the tragic planned disasters of September 11, 2001. The title of this blog post is found in the last line of our National Anthem. It is my prayer today.
However, if we continue to deny the intent of our nation's founding, and the divine inspiration of our founding fathers, we are doomed to failure. Our founding fathers were flawed men just as we are, and would have failed had it not been for Almighty God's gracious intervention. God had a purpose in the creation of this nation. Modern humanist historians, and commentators, point up the mistakes we have made in our short history as proof that God had nothing to do with our miraculous successes. Anytime you focus on men, it is easy to find flaws. Even those of us who are Christians possess the same carnal nature common to all men, and at times we "will" to ignore the still small voice of Christ's Holy Spirit and operate under the direction of our own selfish desires.
We are a "Christian" nation. Our entire history has a divine purpose.
Not everyone in our nation is a Christian. Not everyone who claims to be "Christian" is, and practicing "Christians" don't always do the right thing. Those who deny God and therefore his son Jesus Christ use our misuse of our freedoms in Christ to make their arguments. They point to the misguided campaigns of some early "Christian" zealots to say we were guilty of the same things the Jihadists of Islam are currently doing. The difference is, our bible doesn't support the actions of those "Christians" who participated, and Christian history has been absent such actions since the world became more enlightened.
Millions of Christians are being killed all over the world today by the followers of Islam. It is still going on and it is supported by their holy book, the Qur'an, or Koran.
So, regardless of the outward actions of Muslims worldwide whether outwardly hostile and violent, or passive to the untrained observer, the Koran still says to kill all who do not embrace the worship of Mohammed and his Sharia law. In their religion it is alright to lie to infidels to gain an advantage in the advancement of worldwide Muslim domination.
Here are some excerpts from an article by Clifford May written this month.
— Clifford D. May is president of the Foundation for Defense of Democracies, a policy institute focusing on terrorism and Islamism.
While America was happily cashing in the post–Cold War “peace dividend,” terrorists were bombing the World Trade Center (for what turned out to be the first time), slaughtering American troops at Khobar Towers in Saudi Arabia, bombing two American embassies in Africa, and driving an explosive-laden boat into the USS Cole. Most political leaders, intelligence analysts, academics, and journalists did not see much significance in this pattern.

I differ with some of Mr. May's analysis after these statements, but I hope you get the picture. Many of our government analysts do not see the deception being perpetrated by "tranquil Muslim communities" spreading across our nation - I say beware! When they unmask, you had better be alert and ready to defend yourself.
Honor those today also who are putting themselves in harms way to stem the tide of the aligned Muslim nations set to cripple and destroy the United States of America.
The U.S. and the West are not prepared to escalate the conflict in order to defeat our enemies any time soon. Nor are we likely to accept defeat in the near term. So what we’re left with is indeed an “open-ended war,” a long war, a low-intensity war, on a variety of fronts.
Afghanistan is one of them. It is instructive to note that the Sunday Times of London reported last weekend that Iranians are paying members of the Taliban to kill American soldiers there. Think about that: Iran’s rulers are collaborating with the Taliban, an affiliate of al-Qaeda — evidence, hardly the first, that while Shia jihadis and Sunni jihadis may be rivals, they can and do find common causes: slaughtering Americans, for one.
Political leaders and the intelligence community ought to be seriously contemplating what this means —- and what it will mean if Tehran succeeds in acquiring nuclear weapons. Based on past performance, we cannot be confident they are engaging in such contemplation.
According to the Times, Iran is financing the Taliban using aid money from the West that is being paid to Iranian firms involved in the reconstruction effort in Afghanistan. In other words: NATO countries are funding the slaughter of NATO troops. Will President Obama hold Iran responsible and take steps to end this practice? Will he even speak clearly of Iranian culpability?
More likely, he will repeat that our goal must be to avoid “open-ended war.” How encouraging that will be to the jihadis and Islamists in Iran, Afghanistan, Iraq, Lebanon, Somalia, Yemen, Gaza, and other fronts. It will reassure them that, nine years after the 9/11 attacks, they are thinking strategically — while their infidel enemies are not. Clifford May

Good words and post.
ReplyDeleteMy flag is waving in the breeze this morning. It's the only one I've seen in the neighborhood. I'm a little disappointed. Pappy
